It all started on a cold day on January 4th, 2007 when i flipped my SUV. My Husband was dating this girl i was friends with. Everyday i would go into school at 12:15pm so i would always pick up my friends from school so we could go out for lunch. We were coming back and i had flipped my car into a ditch after hydroplaning. I called my bestfriend kyle and told him, (my boyfriend at the time lived 2 1/2 hours from me so i couldnt ask him to come be with me) Little did i know kyle and Dale (my husband) were friends. My friend (who was dating my husband at the time) had called Dale and let him know what happend, he came to the accident. That was the first time i ever laid eyes on him. In may my boyfriend and i had broken up so to get my mind off it my friend and i were hangin out at the beach. My bestfriend kyle had seen on myspace where i said thats what we were doing that day, so he called me and told me him and dale were in OC too, and to meet up with them, Dale and i shared cheese fries and we all went swimming in the ocean for a little. June came and i was in Ocean city for my birthday weekend when i heard that my “friend” had cheated on dale with her ex, I used to like to fight alot back then, lol so kyle had called me and said “you should beat her up” ..being me back then i said okay sure, why the hell not, i dont have shit else to do lol. She wouldnt meet me. instead she called my phone all night sayin stupid shit like “your fat” (im 128 pounds, thats not fat btw lol) and how im ugly (clearly im not..but im not cocky either) ..tthheenn kyle and i started the whole bestfriends dating thing, he went off to bootcamp and sent me a letter a month later sayin how he wanted to be with me, how we knew each other better then anyone else blah blah blah. After he came home from AIT he cheated on me, we broke up on holloween. Couple weeks later i was walkin through the mall and saw dale, he called out my name, came over to me, and in my head im thinkin..like i only hung out with this kid once, he is clearly way too hot for me..why is he sayin hi. lol. he pulled me aside and said “i heard you and kyle broke up” then gave me this look and said “but dont worry, you can get any guy you want” . I laughed it off and said thanks. He has just gotten his lip pierced so i wanted to be smooth and text him sayin his lip ring was sexy, well my friend i was with that day gave me the wrong number bc she liked him, so he never got my text. Saw him a couple of weeks later i saw him at another friends birthday party, we were going to another party after that and i asked him if he wanted to come, he gave me his number, we started texting..been together ever since.
After we started dating his life just went down hill. His SUV broke down, he got kicked out of his parents house for calling his step mom a bitch, he bounced around from house to house, trying to manage going to probation for a previous DUI and going to work.. Lost both jobs due to not having a ride, couldnt go to court for that same reason bc i had lost my license for 30 days. He was arrested every other week for 2 months for not showing up to his probation,and then once for a malicious destruction charge WHICH HE DIDNT EVEN DO. I supported him, paid for everything he needed, even gave my gift cards to hollister to him i had gotten for xmas so he would have clothes. He was very greatful. In july we had our last court date, at this time he decided i had done enough for him and wanted to turn his life around and be the one to take care of me, so he went to the recruiters office. He had decided to enlist. The only thing standing in the way was his probation. At his last court date he presented the judge with a piece of paper and a business card from the recruiters office and explained how he wanted to go into the military and turn his life around. Thank god we had a judge who 110% supported the military. He got on my husband about how he has given him so many chances, what makes him think he deserves this instead of doing 2 weeks in jail.. then decided to let him go, and probation to be cancelled. we were so happy.
Novemeber 23, 2008 Dale asked me to marry him, he went off to bootcamp january 2009, we got married june 6,2009. And here we are today, happy, in love, enjoying the military life. My story wasnt perfect, we went through ALOT of shit that i didnt even mention, but i wouldnt change it for ANYTHING because it all worked out for the best <3
